Set Sail for Summer!

Nothing better than creating a card to celebrate the long awaited season of summer.  I used a Simon Says Stamp sailboat die cut to create the three sailboats.  I used nautical patterned paper for the boats and banners.  I printed out the word banner on my computer and die cut that as well.  I used navy card stock for the background paper that I die cut using a My Favorite Things stitched dot die.   Then I  put all the pieces together and added the dimensional stick on color coordinated dots for accents.  Simple card sketch that makes you want to go sailing!

Fluttering By With a Birthday Hi!

It has been awhile since I posted any of my crafting creations.  I have been dabbling in many different painting and mixed media creations, including rediscovering Peerless watercolor papers.  I painted the butterflies on quarter sheets of watercolor paper and used shades of yellow, orange and some pinks to create the background.  After using a heat gun to speed up the process of drying, I die cut several medium sized butterflies using an older Sizzex die and the smaller butterflies I used a punch from Martha Stewart.  One card I created a tiny tag and the other one I added a sentiment from a Penny Black word set I had. I also added some specks from the watercolor paints I used to add interest to the background paper.  A folded and popped up the wings and glued them to the paper, folded up the wings and added some glitter glue for an accent.  You can see from the final pic how lovely they came out.  In the mail they went today for my dear June Bday friends.
