Alcohol Inks Techniques on Yupo Paper

Creating backgrounds for cards and other projects using Alcohol Inks and Yupo paper is a fascinating and you never are quite sure what you will create.  These four cards are for a follow up card class at Scrapbook Cove for May.  The backgrounds were created using Alcohol Inks and blending solution on felt secured to a ruler and dragged across the paper.  Another one the ink is dropped across the paper and blending solution helps to create blended stripes.  For the happy birthday card, I used an embossing folder for the Yupo paper, applied the ink, blended it, let it dry and then used a light grit sanding block to sand away the ink on the raised areas.  I cut a piece diagonally  and then added the die cut Happy Birthday to the edge of the paper.  The orange card, I dropped on the ink and moved the paper around, and then added more ink.  While the ink was sticky tacky, I added rose gold foil for accents.  The thank you card I made some stripes, then die cut thanks from the center, added a white rectangle to cover the space and added the thanks to the white paper.  Using this medium allows me to create unique backgrounds.

Graphic 45 2019 Brand Ambassador Audition

I always like a challenge and this Graphic 45 Brand Ambassador looks a great match to my card and paper crafting skills . Last summer, 2018 I designed and taught a card making class at Scrapbook Cove, Mystic, Connecticut using the Sun Kissed beach themed paper.  The class included completing four different cards using this beach themed   paper.  All four cards included a different kind of ‘pocket’ for tags.  I typed a list of  beach related words to add to each tag.  Here are the directions and photos of one of the cards.
