ALTENEW FABULOUS FLORA BLOG HOP

ALTENEW FABULOUS FLORA BLOG HOP AND GIVE AWAY

This newest Altenew release set includes an awesome variety that includes 3 D embossing folders, layering stencils and coordinating dies. Everything in the set is awesome and different and could not wait to start planning and creating cards. Here are the cards I created using the materials from this set. There are more choices to select from and these are the ones I selected to work with. Your turn to be inspired!

Blobby Roses layering die and coordinatng dies
Altenew Meadow layerung stencil
Altenew 3D Embossing Folder
Altenew 3D Curving Leaves embossing folder

DETAILS ON HOW I CREATED EACH CARD

For the first card, I used the Altenew Blobby Rose layering stencil to ink each of the layers of the roses and leaves using Altenew ink cubes in shades of pink and green. I stenciled the roses/leaves on two half sheets of white card stock. This second stenciled paper was needed to die cut enough flowers- single and double and extra leaves. The finished card had two double roses, two single roses, and extra leaves. I used Altenew’s Dotted Swiss debossing plate on white card stock and lightly blended and inked Altenew light pink background. The stamped sentiment tags were from the Altenew Craft-Your-Life project kit Feathered Lilies. I tucked the tags behind the flowers. Change the colors and you have a different look. The layered stencil is awesome, too.

For the second card, I used Altenew’s 6 x 6 five layering stencil Meadow Burst on a half sheet of white card stock as this was a large stencil. I used Altenew mini ink cubes- shades of green and dark blue as the accent color. I also used the same ink colors to create two accent narrow banners for the stamped word banner. I trimmed and die cut the stenciled piece for an A2 card and added the three mini banners. Change up the ink colors and you have a totally different card.

For the third card, I used the Altenew’s 3D Gems embossing folder and heavy weight watercolor paper. This type of embossing folder creates a deep impression and heavy weight paper works well. First, I inked my glass work mat using Altenew dark blue ink cube and sprayed it with water and dragged the paper through the ink puddle. I continued to add ink to cover the quarter sheet of paper. I dried the paper using a heat tool and set it aside. I die cut the Hello from glossy black paper for the top layer and cut another from regular black paper for added dimension and glued them together, I stamped a mini word banner and trimmed it. I used Altenew’s silver glitter washi tape as an accent. I trimmed the embossed and inked paper so there was a white edge for the card front. The Hello word die and sentiment were from Altenew’s Hello and word set.

And for card number four, I used heavy weight white card stock to use with this new Altenew 3D Curving Leaves embossing folder. This time I masked off the edges of the quarter sheet of card stock to create a rectangle in the middle of the paper. I used an Altenew green ink cube and inked the rectangle space. The next step I embossed the piece and then trimmed it to fit on the card front. I die cut the Hello again this time using gold glitter paper and trimmed the die to fit on the front of the inked space. and I also die cut anothrer hello and layered it behind the gold glitter piece for added dimension. Creating the accent colored space show cases the embossed paper both inked and left white. Easy option to try.

ALTENEW PAINT A FLOWER CAMELLIA WATERHOUSE BLOG HOP RELEASE

Hello and welcome to the newest Altenew Paint A Flower Camellia Waterhouse outline flower stamp set. This large new Altenew outline flower stamp is perfect for coloring using a variety of mediums, painting or creating a colorful background. Here are the cards I designed for this release.

Paint-A-Flower: Camellia Waterhouse product image and link to the shop: https://altenew.com/products/paint-a-flower-camellia-waterhouse-outline-stamp-set

  • Paint-A-Flower Monthly Subscription Plan link https://altenew.com/products/paint-a-flower-monthly-subscription
    • This is a monthly subscription plan for our Paint-A-Flower. When signed up, you are guaranteed a spot in our monthly Paint-A-Flower releases and will receive a set each month – at a specially discounted price! ($15.99 →$12.99)

For the first card, I stamped the Camellia Waterhouse stamp on white card stock. I colored the flowers and leaves using Altenew alcohol markers to color and shade with. I kept adding slightly darker inks to create shadows for the petals and leaves tucked under the flowers, When that was completed I fussy cut the colored image. This is an A2 card with the left fold. I used Altenew’s Swiss Dot debossing plate for the piece of white cardstock for the card front, I used a rounded corner die from My Favorite Things to create the final piece. I trimmed the leaves as the flower image was large. I stamped the Altenew coordinating sentiment-Sent With Love on a small word tag and die cut the diamond shape using the Altenew Fine Frames Diamond die nesting set from gold metallic paper. I use this set often. When it was all assembled I added some clear Nuvo drops to create dew drops on the petals and leaves. The flower stamp creates an awesome statement.

For the second card, I used a blue alcohol marker to scribble ink onto a non-porous surface- like a piece of plastic or glass work mat. I mixed in using a palette knife, some 91% alcohol to dilute the ink. I used a quarter sheet of white card stock and put the paper on top of the inky puddle. I kept tapping the paper into the inky puddle to pick up more color to cover the piece of card stock. I wiped the surface clean with a paper towel and set the paper aside to dry. I stamped the sentiment strip and die cut a banner and also a larger banner using Altenew silver glitter washi tape. Put the piece of washi tape on a piece of white card stock, then cut it into the banner shape using either a die or scissor. The inked paper was ready for stamping using permanent black ink and trimmed to fit the card front. I added the layered sentiment strip and a few stick on sequins for visual interest. Super easy- change up the color and you have a whole different look. Enjoy!

MY ALTENEW CALLA LILY CARD

I stamped the Calla Lily flower stem onto white mixed media paper. This paper is a little heavier and is great for watercoloring. I used Altenew mini ink cubes to watercolor the leaves and flowers. I die cut the flower stem three more times from white card stock and layered the pieces together. This easy step adds dimension and visual interest. For the white background paper, I added texture using the Altenew Dotted Swiss debossing plate. I used the Altenew Fine Frames nesting diamond shaped dies to die cut piece of the debossed white paper and another piece from gold metallic paper for behind the stacked diamond die cuts. I stamped the Hello using black ink on white card stock paper and fussy cut a mini diamond shape for the Hello sentiment to create the diamon tag. I used a A2 white card stock for the layered debossed card front. A smple and elegant card. Change up the colors for the painted flower, background paper and you create a different look. Give it a try!

Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Feathered Lilies Release Blog Hop and Giveaways

Craft Your Life Project Kit: Feathered Lilies

Floral beauty and messages of love all in one! The stamp set features a beautiful bouquet of lilies, elaborate leaves, and baroque elements. The minimalist style is a colorist’s dream, as it provides plenty of open space to add coloring and shading. Not a coloring enthusiast? Our coordinating coloring stencils make adding color sweet and simple. Finally, the set is maximized this stamp set with tons of sentiments so you can stay in touch with your loved ones.

FEATHERED LILIES STAMPED, DIE CUTS AND EMBOSSED CARDS

This set from the Altenew Craft Your Life set is all about the Feathered Lilies flowers. What a versatile set. For the first card, I used the embossing folder using mixed media paper. I selected this paper as it was a bit heavier in weight and would work better with the impression from the folder. I water colored the image using Altenew ink cubes- orange, blue, green and brown for the center of the flowers. I added a wash of blue to create the background. I inked a small piece of the same paper, stamped a coordinating sentiment and die cut to create the tag. This is a top folding A2 card. I attached the embossed and painted panel to the card front , added a bundle of gold thread behind the sentiment piece and adhered it to the right hand corner of the card. I love the way it came out!

For the second card, I stamped the the complete floral stem on to heavy weight white card stock. Again, I used Altenew ink cubes- orange, green, blue and light brown to paint and shade the image. I die cut the image to use for the A2 top folding card front. I used the Altenew Dotted Swiss debossing plate to create the background for another piece of white card stock. I did a light blending using a light shade of Altenew blue ink cube to shade the background. This was trimmed for the card front. Again I lightly inked the paper for a sentiment tag using Altenew light blue ink and stamped the Thank You from the set. I trimmed some of the leaves and I added one of the pieces to the back of one of the flowers. I really like how this stamped image filled up the entire card front. What a beautiful and elegent card!

For the last card, it was also an A2 card with a typical card layout. Again, I stamped the image and this time the colors were brigher and bolder. I painted and shaded the image using Altenew ink cubes- pink, green and blue and brown for the flower center. Then I used the coordinating die for the flower and trimmed it to fit the card front. I also inked the background paper using Altenew light blue ink for the background and for the word tag. I stamped the Hello from the set and tucked it under the flower stem. Another elegent card!

ALTENEW CRAFT-A FLOWER ORION GERANIUM CARD

The newest Altenew Craft-A-Flower Orion Geranium is a beauiful layered die set. My first step in creating the flowers was to ink white card stock using the Altenew lightest shade of pink Altenew ink cube for the first layer of the flower die. I used the same inked piece of paper and added the next darkest ink cube to create a darker paper to die cut the second flower die piece. I did the same for the last flower die. The flower pieces were layered from lightest to darkest. I inked white paper using Altenew yellow ink cubes to create the center/stamine pieces of the flower. I used a two different green card stock papers from a Altenew green card stock package for the die cut layered leaves. For the background I inked white card stock using a light pink ink cube and used the Altenew Swiss Dot debossing plate. I arranged the two flowers and leaves for the card layout, stamped and die cut a small sentiment from the set. This is a A2 white card stock with a top fold. I love the way the flowers and leaves came out. Reinking the same piece of paper created the shaded layers I needed for the flowers.

ALTENEW VINTAGE GALORE COLLECTION CARDS

This set has such an awesome collection of stamps, coordinating dies, layering stencils, sentiment stamps and a debossing plate. Here are the three cards I created. I really like the awesome options that are part of this set to create many different cards and projects. I liked that I could combine features from the Collection to create cards that had visual appeal. I posted my cards and a description on how I created each of them. Thanks for stopping by and hope you are inspired! Have fun! and enjoy the Hop!

For first card I used the Folk Flowers 6 x 6 Builder Stencil. I inked each layer of the stencil using Altenew ink cubes in shades of yellow, oranges and green on white card stock. I also inked three white card stock strips using green ink, orange and yellow. I stamped three sentiments from the set to create a birthday card . I die cut the inked sentiments using a mini banner die from My Favorite Things. The top panel was adhered to a A2 white card base with a left scored fold. I like the bright happy colors.

For the second card, I used the Dotted Tearcrop Layering Stamp set. Each layer added another piece- dotted tear drop, center of the tear drop and the triple accent stamp in green ink. I inked a white cardstock strip using a light blue Altenew ink cube and a sentiment from the set-Memories made together last a lifetime in black ink. I added two thin strips cut from Altenew Star Light blue glitter paper from an Altenew glitter paper package set to add behind the inked sentiment banner and used foam tape to add dimension and interest.

For the third card, I inked quarter sheet of white stock using an Altenew yellow ink cube and a blending brush. Then I used the Altenew Dotted Tile debossing cover plate die on the inked paper and trimmed it to a quarter sheet. I inked the layered stencil using Altenew inks in green, yellow and orange and die cut the image using the coordinating die. I die cut another piece using white card stock to add another layer to the inked piece for dimension. I stamped a sentiment from the set on white card stock and created a mini banner. The next step was to add Altenew gold glitter washi strip behind the layered die cut flower and I added the sentiment strip on top using small pieces of foam tape. Happy Mail!

MY NEW FAVORITE CARD MAKING TOOL

As an Altenew Educator I have had the privilege to design cards and paper projects to showcase Altenew’s newly released projects/sets. Such awesomeness!!! One of the new tools for me is the Debossing Detail Plates. An awesome new addition to my Altenew collection and it is the perfect tool to create beautiful textured backgrounds. Here are the cards I created using the Dotted Swiss Debossing Plate.

ALTENEW DOTTED SWISS DEBOSSING PLATE

Using the Altenew Dotted Swiss Debossing Plate I created several different backgrounds. For one card, I inked the layered stencil and then used the Dotted Swiss debossing plate for texture and visual interest for a simple card front. I added Altenew silver glitter washi tape and an inked, stamped and die cut sentiment.

For the Altenew Hello card, I inked and blended Altenew yellow ink cubes to create an inked background. I die cut the Hello from glossy black paper and die cut several other pieces for a layered piece. A stamped and die cut sentiment and some clear sequins to complete the card.

For the last Altenew card, I debossed white card stock for the card front. The flower image was stamped and painted using Altenew ink cubes and was die cut and die cut a second time from white card stock for added dimension. A gold shimmer paper was die cut using Altenew Fine Frames diamond nesting dies. Stamped sentiments strips were added to the card front.

MY CARD USING THE NEW CANDY STRIPE COSMOS FLOWER STAMP AND DIES

Build a Flower Csndystripe Csomos stamps and dies

This set is the newest member of the Build-A-Flower stamp and die, Candystripe Cosmos layering stamp and coordinating die release day. Hooray! I stamped each layering flower sections using coordinating Altenew purple ink cubes starting with the lightest inks first. I used several yellow ink cubes for the flower centers. Then I inked the leaves using green ink cubes again from light to dark colors. I die cut the inked flowers and three of the leaves. The background was created using an ink blending brush and the lightest purple Altenew ink cube to cover the quarter white piece of card stock and darker inked corners. For the next step, I used the Altenew Dotted Swiss debossing plate to create a patterned background. I added a strip of Altenew gold washi tape and arranged the flowers and leaves over the tape. I added a narrow stamped die cut sentiment strip and tucked it behind a flower. I outlined the petals and leaves using a glitter pen. The A2 card is completed and glittery.
