For the first card, I stamped the Camellia Waterhouse stamp on white card stock. I colored the flowers and leaves using Altenew alcohol markers to color and shade with. I kept adding slightly darker inks to create shadows for the petals and leaves tucked under the flowers, When that was completed I fussy cut the colored image. This is an A2 card with the left fold. I used Altenew’s Swiss Dot debossing plate for the piece of white cardstock for the card front, I used a rounded corner die from My Favorite Things to create the final piece. I trimmed the leaves as the flower image was large. I stamped the Altenew coordinating sentiment-Sent With Love on a small word tag and die cut the diamond shape using the Altenew Fine Frames Diamond die nesting set from gold metallic paper. I use this set often. When it was all assembled I added some clear Nuvo drops to create dew drops on the petals and leaves. The flower stamp creates an awesome statement.

For the second card, I used a blue alcohol marker to scribble ink onto a non-porous surface- like a piece of plastic or glass work mat. I mixed in using a palette knife, some 91% alcohol to dilute the ink. I used a quarter sheet of white card stock and put the paper on top of the inky puddle. I kept tapping the paper into the inky puddle to pick up more color to cover the piece of card stock. I wiped the surface clean with a paper towel and set the paper aside to dry. I stamped the sentiment strip and die cut a banner and also a larger banner using Altenew silver glitter washi tape. Put the piece of washi tape on a piece of white card stock, then cut it into the banner shape using either a die or scissor. The inked paper was ready for stamping using permanent black ink and trimmed to fit the card front. I added the layered sentiment strip and a few stick on sequins for visual interest. Super easy- change up the color and you have a whole different look. Enjoy!

  1. 2 beautiful examples of the floral versatility. Thanks for sharing the inspiration and your lovely pieces.

  2. Your backgrounds are especially nice. I like the embossed background on your first card and I am going to try your alcohol ink background from your second card. Thank you.

  3. The cards are lovely. Did not know how to use the marker for a background smooshing it onto the paper, Thanks for sharing that lovely technique. I do not have tons of supplies and that will work great for me.
