Birthday Greetings with Flower Accents!

One of my new favorite stamps are the Art Gone Wild stamps designed by Catherine Scanlon.  I have been delving into the world of watercoloring and her stamps are perfect for painting and coloring.  I used a new set I purchased last week at my favorite stamp store Bella Arts, Johnston, RI.  I was inspired by the Always Playing with Paper blog post challenge- Key words #88 to use either flowers, bright, watercolor, birthday and or square shape.  I used an old favorite bday sentiment stamp inside the square cutout, painted the flowers and leaves using Zig watercolor markers.  I lightly stenciled the background with an Aletnew circle stencil.  A twine bundle, some glitter accents and a bit of foam tape complete the card layout. I know the perfect person to send this to.

Challenge #88 Always Playing with Paper

Colorful Thanks!

A crafting friend and I recently purchased water reactive tissue paper.  I cut the paper into strips and sprayed the watercolor paper with water and added the tissue paper.  Brushed on more water and waited for the tissue paper to dry and react with the water.  I cut the colored paper for the background and die cut the word thanks.  Once I put all the pieces together, I added glossy accents and glitter glue to the thanks and the tiny hearts.  This is my entry for the current Sugar Pea Mix It Up Challenge #32.  SPDMIU32

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue!

My July 4th card is a simple layout using a star stencil, and some glittery stars.  I used some pigment inks to stencil the stars and add word banners from some patterned paper the coordinated for the theme.  I added glittery stars for the gray in the color challenge and spattered the background.  I typed an inside sentiment Happy 4th of July. This card is  for the My Favorite Things  Color Challenge 72.

P is for Poppies!

After reading the color challenge posted for the Card Concept #76 blog, I found just the right flower stamp to use for the red color of the black and red challenge.  I love poppies but this year the poppies in our yard got too much rain so I have to make due with a stamped image instead.  I used a Penny Black cling stamp for the poppies  and added accent patterned black and red banners and a black circle for an accent.  I colored the poppies using Zig markers.  I love the way I am able to shade with them.  A tiny circle word sentiment and a thread bundle complete the card sketch.

Cool Summer Colors!

This week Always Playing with Paper  blog #87 has a color challenge and it is turquoise, orange and pink.  I used a beautiful flower stamp from Catherine Scanlon.  I used Zig markers to paint in each flower.  I added a stamped sentiment from Altenew and a stencil for the background using distress inks.  I used mixed media paper and die cut the painted paper.  A few white Nuvo drops finish the color sketch layout.

Mason Jar Summer Drink Card!

Here is my submission for this week’s Always Playing With Paper #86 Sketch.  I used Dare2bArtzy stamps, paper and die cuts to create the mason jar and orange slice.  I added coordinating paper and word banner.  The die cut jar and fruit slice were colored with Zig markers.  I lightly stenciled the white rectangle and embossed the background paper.  Time to enjoy a cool drink!

Colorful Birthday Squiggles!

A simple but colorful birthday card for the Always Playing With Paper #85 Color Challenge.  I used black Archival on mixed media paper to stamp each squiggle circle.  I used Zig markers to paint and shade each circle.  I added a Lawn Fawn bday sentiment, added a purple background paper and used white card stock for the card base.  Time for happy Bday greetings with the happy card!  UPDATE- this  card was aTop Pick for the Challenge for last week!!!

Can’t believe I am creating summer card projects for two June classes at Scrapbook Cove.  I used a new company Dare2BArtzy and I used two stamp sets, matching die cuts and beautiful coordinating paper.  I designed six cards, one set is beach themed- beach chair, flip flops and a cool drink in a Mason jar.  My cards sketches were a Z fold, flip square card and a layer die cut sketch.  I love the calming colors.  The second set were light house and water themed using another set from Dare2BArtzy and coordinating paper.  Another Z fold, watercoloring and die cut sunset.  A bit of glitter, twine and die cutting add to the presentation!  Hope you can join in the fun!

Pink Petals!

This card was inspired by the Aletnew color challenge.  I used zig markers for the coloring of the flower and a watercolor resist background using a paper doily  for the resist.  Some Nuvo drop accents, a twine bundle behind the flower and a sentiment from Penny Black complete the layout.
