Just Because Easter Card!

I used the beautiful  new spring line from BoBunny papers for this card.  I had already created a pink version of this for a craft class at Scrapbook Cove.  I  included a twine bundle and bow as an accent.  This adds another dimension to the card layout. The added paper doily and ribbon accent complete the look.  Love the way it came out.

Happy Sunflowers on Gingham Banner

I found this great card sketch on the Always Playing With Paper blog the other day.  I used the Lawn Fawn sunflowers and die cut for the flowers and leaves.  I used my new set of watercolor pencils from Derwent for the flowers and leaves.  I love the intense colors. I added the gingham banner, a smaller word banner and a scallop accent required for the Sugar Sketch Challenge #SPDSS46.  I added a tiny heart and a twine bow for the final touch.  Now that I have the pieces figured out, I think I will make a few more for special friends.

Pretty Felt Flowers!

Making a few birthday cards has been on my to do list and I wanted to create a card using a few new elements.  I had seen a few cards that use die cut flowers and figured I would give it a try.  I die cut some pink circles from felt and patterned paper.  I even found a matching pink button.  I used the die cut and word stamps from Hero Arts for the Happy Birthday.  The colors were nice and springy!  Hope my friend likes it!   I am sure she will.

Pleasing Color Combo

I thought the color challenge from Always Playing with Paper  Color Challenge #64 posted on the blog was a great combination of colors.  I used one of my favorite Penny Black stamps to create a card using  blue, navy blue, lime and gray. I colored the stamped image with Tombow markers, added some accent torn paper accents.  The word tag was added using May Arts twine which is one of my go to accents.  Might try this color combo on another project. Image

Sing a Song for Spring!

I have been working on some inventory for my craft space at Jubliee Junction.  I wanted to have some spring projects and nothing better than bird nests and bird houses.  I had to create the eggs from paper clay as I could not find any tiny ones for the projects.  I have used the wooden frame for another project so I knew AC Moore would have them and for the price they are great.  Stop by the shop to pick up some  of my hand crafted gift items.

Pretty Pink Posies!

A last minute entry for the Hero Arts Flower Challenge.  I used an old Hero Arts favorite to create the large flower. I embossed it using white ink and embossing powder, cut out the image and curled up the petals.  I used some pretty printed background paper and added light green for the larger background paper. I added a paper doily, word banner, twine bow and bundle and tiny flower buds.  One last piece was liquid pearls to center of each flower.  I try to enter card challenges when I can and  thought I would give this one a try with only one day left to enter.

Mixed Media Mini Boards

I have decided to consign some of my crafts at Jubilee Junction in Groton, CT.  I am going to give it a try and had to decide what craft projects I wanted to showcase. So I had to begin my research about the designs I wanted to create for the boards.  I had plenty of paper- of course, then I had to create the first model.  Here are my first boards, simple but makes a statement. I am sure my boards will continue  to evolve.  I hope I sell a few and my inventory will change with holidays and events, too.

Say It With Flowers!

I was given an assignment from Roni at Scrapbook Cove to create some projects using the new spring line of paper from Bo Bunny for a class I would be teaching in March to welcome Easter and spring weather.  The papers samples were beautiful.  I also used a die cut from Impression Obsession and a hydrangea stamp from I.O as well.  All stunning card making supplies.  After some Pinterest inspiration and several different attempts, here are the samples. I created three cards and one mini milk carton candy box.  I created the paper flowers by folding and refolding the pieces.  I added the bird on a branch to a die cut picture frame on a different card layout.  A paper doily, watercolored hydrangea or violet image and a few other embellishments finish the projects. I love the way they came out, like the shabby chic look.  Can’t wait to teach the class in March.

Happy Wedding Day!

I was asked by a friend to create a wedding card for a February wedding.  I wanted to create something different and I was inspired by a post on Pinterest. I CASed the posting and put my own spin on it.  I liked that it was a different layout. Glitter, sequins, watercolored hearts, die cutting and #myfavoritethings stamps and die cuts finish the look.  Glad I sent away for some new word die cuts and stamps.  Could always use more of those! I guess I am into watercoloring these days!

Sending you Hugs!

I love making Valentine day cards and crafts.  The stamps by My Favorite Things are so cute and used one of the little girl stamp sets for the card this year.  I stamped the image in black permanent ink and watercolored the image.  I added some banners for accents and a glittery heart with tied bow.  A stitched cut and scallop frame were used for some of the shapes and of course  the finishing touch was some glitter glue.  I will enter this happy creation in the #sparkleandshinechallenge that was posted today.  My cards were in the mail yesterday and could not wait to send some happy mail!
