A Colorful Bunch!

This stamp set and coordinating dies are a new addition to my stamping studio and they are titled Stitched Flowers from My Favorite Things company.  I even had the chance to visit the flagship store- Awesome!- on a recent visit to Florida.  What a beautiful store!  What a treat to see samples and ideas and go shopping.  Here is my submission for the card sketch challenge-MFTWSC375 and color challenge-#89.  I think it works for both categories this week. I used Neenah white paper and colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers.  I love how the colors blend.  I used a sentiment for the front and added lightly stenciled accents and a few Nuvo drop accents.  IMG_2297

Pretty Papers from a Kaiser Craft Pad

Kaiser Craft company has such beautiful papers and I designed four cards using only the paper from the pad which also includes borders and paper tags.  The paper in the pad is color coordinated with shades and prints in blues and greens.  I did not use any stamps, ink, paints when I designed the cards. I added leaves, mini die cut flowers, silver twine and glitter glue to the center of the flowers.  Using paper from a pad has endless possibilities for paper combinations.

Ombré Coloring Using Copic Markers

After watching an awesome video about creating an ombré blended effect on die cut words. Keeping the die cut words in place, color multiple words at a time using different shades of color. Great technique when you have to make many of the same card. I used a stencil for the colored background. I will continue to experiment with this awesome technique. I experimented with different color combinations and shading for the coloring.

Purple Painted Blooms!

I played with a new stamp set and coordinating die set from My Favorite Things.  I visited the MFT store in Florida last week.  What an awesome place.  Here is my card for sketch challenge for the MFTWSC 372.  I used the stitched blooms stamps and colored them with Copic markers.  A bit of glitter pen and Nuvo drops accent add a bit of shine.  Love the bright purple colors.

Painted Flowers!

I tried a different card sketch lay out for this card.  It worked for the Viva La Verve February card sketch.  I like adding a visual interest focal point and this time is was the  paper doily. The painted flowers were from Art Gone Wild designed by Catherine Scanlon.  I love her bold flowers and have several of her stamps.  Always nice to have a card ready for any occasion.  I stenciled the background using Distress Oxide ink.

Sending Valentine Hugs!

I love making cards and paper projects for Valentine’s Day!  I already had my cards ready to mail, but I kept finding new ideas to try.  I was inspired to try this card layout after watching a video featuring this technique.  Here is my try at using some new Distress Oxide inks in three colors and some stamped swirls.  I might even add some sparkles yet.  Then I found the weekly card sketch challenge from My Favorite Things #MFTWSC370.  I die cut the heart, placed the inked piece behind it and then added the die cut word and word banner.  cut out heart.jpg

Remembering Summer!

A card post for the# Color Throw down Keyword: ctd477 using gray, orange and light blue. This was one of my favorite summer cards.  I embossed the starfish and weathered wood paper and twine and aqua blue accents.  Thought I would give this color challenge a try.  Thinking of summer

V is for Valentine!

I love making Valentine cards!  I designed these cards for a February class at Scrapbook Cove.  They can be adapted for other occasions by changing the inside sentiments. I used Lawn Fawn stamps and coordinating dies, and a few other dies to complete the lay outs. A few glitter accents and Nuvo drops complete the lay out. Have you made your cards yet?  Can’t wait to mail mine.

Fun Winter Holiday Cards!

Creating cards for special family children is so exciting.  I used a fabulous set from Mama Elephant for the dancing reindeer card.  I used Neenha paper for stamping, die cutting and coloring with Copic markers.  A snowy hill die cut and sentiment from Right At Home stamps finish the front. I added another reindeer to the inside above the sentiment. And of course a bit of glitter for the shine.  The snowman was pieced from die cut circles, twig arms, paper scarf and a shiny glitter carrot nose.  Finishing touch was the black Nuvo drops.  Love it!  Can’t wait to hear how the kids like them.   Take a look!

Time To Be Merry and Bright!

My Christmas cards have been sent and received.  I love the way they came out this year.  I used new stamps from Right At Home stamps and coordinating dies and word stamps.  The poinsettias were painted using water based  Zig markers.  I discovered glitter shimmer paper the was wonderful for die cutting word and the trees.  Take a look!
